Ahead of The Deal's Convergence 2.0 conference Sept. 17 in New York, listen to a Podtech interview with The Deal's Richard Morgan for a preview of the convergence issues — private equity, net neutrality, online video advertising that are reshaping the worlds of technology, telecom and media. The  conference will feature keynote interviews with Edgar Bronfman Jr., chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group, and with Michael D. Fricklas, the executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Viacom Inc.

Bronfman will be interviewed by Morgan on trends unfolding in the music business and what the company plans following the bidding war for EMI Group plc. Sitting down with Fricklas will be The Deal’s Alain Sherter, to hopefully discuss Viacom’s digital strategies, online distribution of content and the company’s $1 billion lawsuit against Google Inc.’s YouTube.

The conference will also feature four additional onsite podcasts covering opportunities in IPTV,  broadband alternatives and the third pipe, the interview with Bronfman, as well as new advertising and media models. — George White
