The most touted of the 'software as a service' crowd, Salesforce.com is apparently not above some underhanded tactics in trying to stay ahead of the competition. The company run by Larry Ellison protégé Marc Benioff is drawing fire from Entellium, one of its many on-demand competitors. Salesforce's marketing team has written up an evaluation sheet, with a checklist that compares itself to Entellium, according to a blog on ZDNet. Only trouble is, the list is 80% inaccurate, according to the blogger. In response, Entellium is running a corrected version of the list on its Web site. Touche! But somehow, one imagines a response from Ellison or Benioff to the same treatment might be slightly more .... dramatic? — Kate Gibson

From: SFDCWatcher,

SFDC is a Marketing Hype Machine, so this is to be expected. They also did the same with other rivals such as Salesboom, where they threatened to close them down if they dont change their name!
