If Disney needed any further validation for its experiment with free online distribution of TV shows, CBS's announcement that it would basically copy the model exactly should have provided it.

CBS will use its Innertube portal to distribute its most popular shows, including "CSI" and "Survivor" beginning in September. Back in May, I rated CBS's Internet television offerings as the worst of the networks. The company had no clear direction, and seemed to have given a half-hearted attempt at everything. Since, it has put shows up on iTunes and now has copied ABC for its streaming efforts. When innovation fails, there's always imitation. — Brian Ward
