Earlier this week MovieLink announced a deal which could allow its users to burn downloaded movies onto DVDs some time in the future. This is a huge step, unfortunately MovieLink's main competitor, CinemaNow actually rolled out the service today, according to M&C Movies.

MovieLink acquired the technology from Sonic Solutions, CinemaNow's service is based on fluxDVD, a technology for secure online DVD distribution. Titles from Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Lionsgate, MGM Worldwide Digital Media, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, EagleVision and Sundance Channel are currently available. See my initial review of these two services. — Brian Ward

From: Brian Baxendale,

Their wonderful new DRM has been cracked already. The DVDs that "cannot be copied" launched yesterday by CinemaNow are showing up on YouTube (see http://youtube.com/watch?v=RZ6HZtq3GXY). So much for their great copy protection.
