Veveo Inc. vice president Daren Gill stopped by Tech Confidential's office to show us vtap Feed, a customized video feed service being unveiled Monday.
Veveo is often mentioned as a favorite by Web 2.0 entrepreneurs and investors. It has raised an impressive $28 million from Matrix Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and OmniCapital Group. Launched last fall, vtap's index includes more than 150 million video clips from thousands of Web sites, including YouTube, MySpace and TV network sites.
Based on personal preferences and interests you identify, the feed service pushes video clips to your PC, your mobile phone (both Apple Inc. iPhones and phones based on Windows Mobile), and your profiles on Facebook and MySpace. One nice-to-have feature, especially when using the service on a mobile phone: As you begin typing a word, vtap tries to complete it for you, with reasonably good results.
So here's a (blatantly self-serving) suggestion. Set up the vtap Feed for Tech Confidential's Behind The Money show. That way, you'll never miss an episode. - Mary Kathleen Flynn
