Social media marketing company BuzzLogic Inc. on Tuesday said it acquired Activeweave, the software company behind BlogRovR, a plug-in that lets users view relevant content from their favorite bloggers as they browse the Internet. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Every time a user views a Web page, BlogRovR will fetch content from a list of pre-selected bloggers and provides content from those bloggers if they've written about something similar about the page. It currently has more than 180,000 registered users and monitors approximately 200,000 blogs. The company was funded in part from Internet entrepreneur Esther Dyson and angel investment firm Active Starts.

BuzzLogic said the acquisition would add another dimension to how its algorithms analyze online influence and strengthen its conversation targeting advertising product. BuzzLogic in January, 2007 raised $9.6 million in Series A funding from Adams Capital Management Inc., Ackerley Partners LLC and Transcosmos Investments & Business Development Inc. -- David Shabelman
