Intelleflex
Santa Clara, Calif.-based radio frequency identification systems developer Intelleflex Corp. raised $15.5 million in a third round of venture funding led by strategic investor Motorola Ventures, and will work closely with parent Schaumberg, Ill.-based Motorola Corp. to extend the electronics giant's participation in higher-end RFID applications. The round brings total funding in Intelleflex to $42.3 million and includes participation from new investor Arcata Capital of Atlanta, as well as returning investors Morgenthaler Ventures of Menlo Park, Calif., Woodside Fund of Redwood City, Calif., Alloy Ventures of Palo Alto and Selby Venture Partners of Menlo Park. --Clifford Carlsen

Fovea
Paris-based biopharmaceutical company Fovea Pharmaceuticals SA, has raised a ¤30 million ($44 million) Series B financing. The round was led by Forbion Capital Partners of Naarden, the Netherlands, joined by existing investors Sofinnova Partners and Crédit Agricole Private Equity, both of Paris; Abingworth Management Ltd. and Wellcome Trust, both of London; GIMV NV of Antwerp, Belgium. The company is developing therapeutics for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases. The proceeds will be used to advance its FOV1101 program for chronic allergic conjunctivitis into Phase 2 clinical trials and to initiate Phase 2 studies of its FOV2302 and FOV2301 programs for the treatment of acute and diabetic macular edema. --G.W.
Revance
Revance Therapeutics Inc. of Mountain View, Calif., has received a $43.2 million Series C funding. The company is a developer of aesthetic medicine. Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. of Scottsdale, Ariz., led the deal with a $20 million investment, which gave it a 10% equity stake and an exclusive North American license for its topical botulinum toxin type A product. Other investors include Shepherd Ventures of San Diego, Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, Palo Alto Investors, Vivo Ventures and Technology Partners, all of Palo Alto, Calif. --G.W.
