Taligen Therapeutics
Drug developer Taligen Therapeutics Inc. of Aurora, Colo., announced a $65 million second round of venture funding, which it expects to receive in installments. Alta Partners of San Francisco and Clarus Ventures of Boston led the round. Also participating were Sanderling Ventures of San Mateo, Calif., and High Country Venture LLC of Boulder, Colo., an affiliate of Tango Group of Denver. Four-year-old Taligen, which has several preclinical drug candidates in the monoclonal antibody and recombinant fusion protein areas, previously raised at least $3.75 million in Series A funding from Sanderling, Tango and High Country, in installments during 2005 and 2006. -- P.B.

SpotXchange
Angel investors have provided an undisclosed amount of funding to online video advertising network SpotXchange of Westminster, Colo., nearly a year after Booyah Networks Inc. of Westminster spun out the company. At least six former employees of Janus International Holding LLC of Denver and its affiliates invested in SpotXchange, as did Alex Bogusky, the chief creative officer of advertising agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky of Miami.  -- P.B.

Etsy
Etsy Inc., a Brooklyn, N.Y., online trading platform for handmade items, has raised a $27 million Series D round. Previous investors Union Square Ventures of New York and Hubert Burda Media of Munich were joined by new backer Accel Partners of Palo Alto, Calif.  --George White

7digital
British online music and media provider 7digital has received an $8.5 million investment led by Sutton Place Managers, joined by investor Balderton Capital. Patrick Maxwell, a Partner at Sutton, will join the 7digital board. --G.W.
