mypunchbowl_logo.jpgPunchbowl Software Inc., an event planning company launched in January, on Tuesday said it has raised an undisclosed seed round from eCoast Angels and Intel Capital. The company's site combines invitations with several interactive features, such as a service that helps invitees choose a date for a party or other event.

Comparing the site to rival Evite, which is owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp, is a good way to highlight differences between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 startups and see what the hubbub around the latter is all about. - Stacey Higginbotham
