Virtual world executives, entrepreneurs and investors are gathered today at Stanford University to attend the Virtual Goods Summit. Mohr Davidow is the event's main sponsor while Charles River Ventures is the Advisory Sponsor. Kevin Efrusy, a general partner at Accel Partners, is participating in a panel this afternoon that will discuss the likelihood that virtual goods are the next big business model. CRV's Susan Wu will moderate that panel.

Venture capitalists from more than 20 firms are expected to attend some portion of the day's events. These include Granite Global, Morgenthaler, Crosslink, Lightspeed, Claremont Creek, Rustic Canyon, Wellington, Bessemer, Altos, Mayfield, Menlo, Venrock, Alsop Louie, Azure and Intel Capital. Not listed on the attendee list is Benchmark Capital, which counts three of the ten largest online worlds as portfolio companies.
