Far away in Israel, you would think Benchmark Capital's Michael Eisenberg would be insulated from Silicon Valley biggie Google. But, the venture capitalist explained during the Venture Capital 2.0 panel held this afternoon at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco that he views Google as an "engineer predator".

Eisenberg complained that Google is driving up the cost of development at startups around the globe. "I'm looking for a place where Google doesn't have a development center but haven't found it yet."

According to the map of Google's office below, it looks like Africa is wide open.

From: Tom Summit,

Yes, i read an interesting post on BuzzBoston.wordpress with a similar topic. Paul Graham is Selling our Children.

http://buzzboston.wordpress.com/2007/04/17/paul-graham-is-recruiting-the-children/

pretty soon we will be seeing engineers "turn pro" right out of high school.

From: Michael,

You missed one country (two development centers) on the map. You need to add a dot for Israel. Actually two: One in Haifa and one in Tel Aviv. ISrael is the small strip of land connecting Asia, Africa and the Middle East in case you are looking.
