Quick Take: Considering three of the seven venture capital exits worth more than $1 billion achieved in the last four years were by Chinese startups and two of the remaining four were funded by Sequoia Capital, I think Beijing 3G has a pretty good shot at success. The experienced management and engineering teams led 3721 Networks to its $120 million sale to Yahoo! Inc. in 2003. Combine that with the China’s still-growing Internet search market and its nascent mobile search market, and this deal’s success should depend solely on execution. — Joshua Jaffe
