I don't know the answer. But, it's a question worth exploring in the coming weeks. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has long been regarded as the world's best venture capital firm but with PayPal, Google and now, YouTube to point to, Sequoia Capital can now make a fair claim to the top spot.

Sequoia invested $8 million in April 2006 and $3.5 million in November 2005. The return from YouTube has been calculated elsewhere to amount to about 41x. Not bad for eleven months of work.
