Quick Take: The big news here is that Space.com is still around. Refusing to go the way of APBNews.com and DrKoop.com, the science and technology content web site has emerged from its 2003 recapitalization with a third round of funding that it believes will be its last. With a broader focus of attracting people that are intellectually inquisitive, and not just stargazers, Imaginova hopes its e-commerce and content mix can have it soaring in a few years. This far in, though, the upside and risk for this venture have both been capped. The best outcome would be for Google to incorporate it into their own galactic ambitions.
