Anyone interested in social media, Internet M&A, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace or consumer venture capital should listen to the recording of the discussion held last week during the Internet dealmaking panel at The Deal's Silcon Valley Summit. Those were just a few of the topics covered by panelists (who are all pictured below):

Toby Coppel, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Yahoo!
Michael Lang, Executive Vice President, Business Development and Strategy, Fox Networks Group, News Corp.
James Slavet, General Partner, Greylock Partners
Paul Wehrley, Vice President, Strategy & Operations, Ask.com, Interactive Corp.

If you want to skip around the recording, here is the conversation thread in chronological order:

*Toby and Mike agree that social media is one of their main focuses right now.
*They're both thinking about how to monetize online video
*In response to a question about whether NewsCorp. would buy YouTube (remember, this was held one day before news of Google's impending purchase broke) Mike said NewsCorp. was happy with MySpace Video
*Panel debated whether online video will be driven by professionally produced or user-generated content
*Panel debated what makes one social network a sustainable success and others a trendy failure
*Toby declined to say whether Yahoo was in talks with Facebook but said the company is continuing to pursue a balanced approach to growth
