New rounds of funding for blog search engines, Technorati and Feedster, were revealed today. No new major outside investors to speak of in either company's deal. That makes an up round unlikely. But, it looks like they both raised some decent money that will allow them to continue operations for a little while.

Technorati raised $7.6 million from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Mobius. It's unclear right now whether previous investor August Capital participated. Feedster raised an undisclosed amount that we can safely presume was far less than $7.6 million. Previous investors participating were Selby Venture Partners, Omidyar Network and Mitsui & Co. and Josh Kopelman’s Midas Capital. Felicis Ventures, a one-man VC shop, provided the only new money in the round.

I doubt whether this capital is going to take either company to profitability but it furnishes them with more time to find buyers. A merger between Technorati and Feedster would give them even more time and could lead to a more formidable company.
