Triage Wireless Inc. bulked up with a pair of strong strategic ties in closing a $20.3 million Series B round with Qualcomm Ventures as lead investor, with Intel Capital also contributing alongside previous venture investors Sanderling Ventures and 3i Group.
The venture arms of the giant chip companies have signed on to Triage's efforts to commercialize wireless technology in the life sciences to help monitor vital signs using proprietary method for measuring and relaying blood pressure statistics. Venture investors had initially put $5.5 million into the company, and the substantial new round will allow Triage to advance the technology internally while also working closely with Intel and Qualcomm.
