My latest After Hours column in Tech Confidential magazine profiles Thomas Miller and his passion for motor sports. The story is particularly timely in light of the news today that Siemens would purchase Bayer's medical diagnostics unit for $5.4 billion.

Miller (pictured at right) will be an important part of the team that determines the success or failure of that transaction. He is currently the president of Siemens Medical Solutions division in the US.
